Wayfinding at
Tallinn Airport

Client: Tallinn Airport

Role: Art director, strategist

Agency: Optimist

Year: 2018

Ironically people notice signs (or the lack of them) when they are already lost. Airports are inherently stressful environments. A safe and convenient wayfinding system not only affects the efficiency of an airport but also the overall customer experience (read: satisfaction).

This project encompassed the entirety of wayfinding at Tallinn Aiport: traffic and user analysis, existing signage analysis, aspects of graphic design, iconography, animation, sign construction, sign placement, quality assurance, wayfinding standards manual, and development principles for the future.
